PHREXIOUS Archive
A site dedicated to recovering everything related to the 1930's cartoon The Mischievous World of Phrexious. We have strived to uncover the mysteries that lay underneath the history of the cartoon we've grown to know and love. Fortunately, with a helping hand, we have been able to recover some missing items and discover new things in our search! As exciting as this seems to us, it is up to you to decide if you want to join us on our journey.Below is important main information to know before deep-diving into new discoveries. We are hoping to update them more as time passes on:
Dilah Park

This is Dilah Park, the creator of Phrexious. She made the cartoon cat what we all know him as today when she was only 11-years-old. Having moved to RoseSpring when she was 6, Dilah has always had a special place in the hearts of people in their community. A sweet, outgoing young girl she was. And this was especially proven with her work on Phrexious. With a talent in arts, she made the world of Phrexious, inspired by other cartoons known worldwide. The show did astoundingly well, too. To many, it's considered a unique and special cartoon, with its well meaning messages implemented through the characters and their actions– an amazing message left from the creator to her audience!Unfortunately, out of what we're aware, she had grew incredibly ill. It lead to the cancellation of anything Phrexious related around late 1939 to early 1940's. Regardless of what happened, let it be known that she left a positive impact on her community and she was greatly missed by them and her loved ones.
meet the characters

Despite being apart of a well known cartoon, not everyone might know the characters that truly make Phrexious, well, Phrexious! Phrexious Cat and his buddies Tom Fox, Susie Sheep, and Toro Bull (more like accquaintance) get into many comical and– much like the title implies– mischievous adventures around their home kingdom!PHREXIOUS CAT- Phrexious is the curious trouble-maker star of the show! He tends to cause misdeeds around the kingdom, usually resulting in his friends needing to get him out of the trouble he got himself into.TOM FOX- Tom is a sweet but sly fox, and Phrexious' best friend since childhood. He spends a bit of his time searching for and spending time with bugs. Other times, he's helping Phrexi cause trouble.SUSIE SHEEP- Susie is our daring and bold sheep. She's the leader in the kingdom's royal guard; mastering in archery and uses a crossbow as her main weapon in battle. If she's not working, she's usually in a studio hosting dance lessons for the towns folk, or performing in the town's special events.TORO BULL- Toro is an independant bull who tries to appear intimidating. He's apart of the royal guard, and usually spends most of his time working. If he's on break, he can be found in gardens or flower fields. However, he does have anger issues, so try not to mess with him! (Phrexious is very bad about that)These were the written introductions to the characters we found in one of the newspapers issued a few weeks after the first episode of Phrexious was released in theaters. The image above is one of the only surviving drawings from Dilah we've been able to find as of right now.
Old RoseSpring Newsletters

These are only a few of the many newsletters we've been able to somewhat recover from Phrexious' prime. Although Phrexious was a hit around the world, it's best to recover it's origins as well. The birth of Phrexious was here in RoseSpring, Illinois, a fairly small town. There has been a collection of these discussing the cartoons within the papers, as well as when the cartoon cat was brought to the animation world. Although, not all papers are about the happy and bright characters. There happens to be some papers about unfortunate news of the creator before it went unnoticed. However, this does not strive our attention away from this being an incredibly important find!
